Indian Government has taken a decision to ban a total of 118 mobile apps which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India , Defence of India , Security of State and Public Order on September 2, 2020.
The Ministry of Electronic and the Information Technology, Government of India under the section 69A of the Information Technology Act read with pertinent provisions of the Information Technology rules 2009, and in views of emergent nature of threats , the governments of India took the decision to ban all the 118 mobile apps as they are engaged in activities which are prejudicial to Sovereignty and Integrity of India.
PUBG corporation has finally responded about the Indian government banning the app in India. The Corporation stated that, they completely understand and respect the decision taken by the government as the privacy and security of player data is the top priority for the company. They added that they are hoping to have a talk with the government and resolve this incident by being fully cooperative with the Indian laws and their regulations.
PUBG corporation has decided to break their tie up with the Tencent Games to no longer authorize PUBG Mobile Franchise in India. The franchise will likely tie up with a company that is established within the country.
If the Indian government and PUBG corporation can resolve the problems regarding the privacy and security of the player data then, PUBG Mobile will be back in India within no time.
PUBG will likely relaunch in India on October 24, 2020. PUBG Corporation has made a decision not to authorize the PUBG Mobile franchise to Tencent Games in India
