Ranked number one in the tennis player rankings, Novak Djokovic has been disqualified from the US Open on September 7, 2020. This tennis pro has been disqualified as he hit a female line of judge with a ball in her throat, which he did unintentionally. He swatted the ball hard enough to the back of the court where the judge was standing.
Djokovic was facing Pablo Carreno Busta from Spain. Djokovic was filled with frustration after squandering three set points when Busta served at 4-5 and 0-4 then suffering a fall.
Djokovic immediately went upto the judge who was suffering extreme pain and apologized to her. Here is the video clip of Djokovic apologizing.
Soren Friemel , tournament referee spoke to chair impire Aurelie Tourte and Andreas Egli before a long chat with 33 year old Novak. Djokovic stated that he had no intention to hit the official.
